A Little Black Dress with Pops of Blue

feature 04

When I put together an outfit, I normally have one specific piece in mind, and then I build the outfit around it. In some cases, that might be a statement necklace … other times its a shoe, or a bag. This outfit was a little different, though…

It started with a door. A brightly colored door. One that managed to inspire an entire outfit. This door is right near my apartment, and painted the boldest shade of blue. Every time I walked by it, I thought about shooting some pictures in front of it. With this primary color on my mind, I took to my wardrobe to create the perfect outfit … and I decided on a LBD with some pops of blue.

Pops of color, whether in life or in outfits, are really helping me cope with winter. Everyone swore that NYC winters were mild, and that Wisconsin winters would be a thing of my past. LIES! This cold, day in and day out, is beginning to wear on me.

The good news? I’m really starting to perfect the 3 minute outdoor photo sessions.¬†No, I was not wearing stockings. Yes, I will probably catch a cold.

Spring, I’m ready for you!
