One is never over-dressed or underdressed in a little black dress.
It is an essential part of any woman’s wardrobe. A timeless staple that can be utilized on so many occassions. Dress it down, with a belt and flats, and its perfect for a casual afternoon … dress it up with heels and some gems and you’re ready for an evening out … or even smarten your look with a blazer, and you’re ready for the office.
If you pick a cut that flatters your body type, a style that really makes you feel GOOD, it can become your go-to grab on those days when you are peering into your closet with seemingly nothing to wear.
I’m a sucker for a great LBD, and probably own about ten. Each time I find a new one, I rationalize the purchase by saying “well… you can always use a little black dress in your closet!”. I wonder how many more times that excuse will work ;-)
So it’s decided. You’re gonna wear your black dress. Now how do you stand out? How do you have a little fun, with a generally classic look? Most importantly, how can you sprinkly a little *you* into the ensemble.
I think of my LBD as the foundation of a good outfit. A blank slate for creativity. Any jewels, pops of color, or layering pieces I choose to add will spice up the outfit, and give it the vibe I want to convey for that occasion!
So today, I’m sharing one twist on my little black dress. One with pops of pink and a teenie bit of orange. It’s a little sassy, a lotta bold, and perfect for a date or a night out with your girls.
Plus, who says hot pink is reserved for spring and summer? A bag like this one deserves to be worn all 12 months of the year.
So if you don’t have a little black dress, get one! If you do, think about different ways you can style it. Get creative, it’s a blank slate! And remember … one is never over-dressed or underdressed in a little black dress.
