If you’re like me, every morning you stand in front of your closet — full of clothes — and think, “I have nothing to wear”. It’s hard to be inspired when the sun hasn’t even come up yet. Sometimes all you need is a little focus, or a challenge.
I love a good challenge. Especially a style challenge. I stumbled across Hilary Rushford and her “Style Me March” challenge on instagram last week. Each month she offers suggestions on how to focus your style, with daily themes and inspirations. Her challenge? Complete all 31 days, and in the process, appreciate the clothes you already have rather than constantly swooning over new pieces. The point is to remind you that, perhaps your clothes aren’t the problem; it’s the way you look at them. Approaching your wardrobe in new ways can unlock a sartorial side you never knew existed.
I’m only five days in, but I’ve already noticed a difference in my wardrobe outlook. I’m excited to get dressed in the morning (!!) and I feel a renewed sense of purpose and satisfaction.
You can find each outfit on my instagram page, and I plan to give you a rundown of the challenge at the end of the month. For now, let’s take a peek at Day One, and “My Favorite Color – Blue“.
