In New York, spring is the “one or the other” season. Bare arms, or bare legs. Never both.
Shorts and a sweater, or pants and a tee? Short dress with long sleeves, or long dress with short sleeves? Kind of a tease – it’s warm, but not quite warm enough.
Saturday was the perfect example – beautiful and sunny with a subtle chill in the wind, as winter finally releases its stronghold on this city. Since my legs have been hibernating in pants for the last seven months (and are in dire need of some sun), I opted for the shorts and sweater combo. Wearing shorts lets me enjoy the warm weather, while the sweater keeps me realistic. I’m especially loving this linen JCrew sweater – its flowy and a bit sheer, but light enough for a 65 degree day.
It was another exploratory afternoon – one where we had no plan. We just grabbed my camera and started walking. This time, south west. About halfway to nowhere we were jonesing for cappuccinos and gelato, so we headed to Eataly and Madison Square Park.
Autumn in New York City might have my heart, but spring, for the short time it’s here, is such a flirt :)
How have you been enjoying your spring weather?
PS — Wantable is giving away a fabulous Kate Spade bag this week (and I just HAD to share)!
