There’s something about a fully stocked fruit bowl and a fresh bouquet of flowers that just makes me happy! The last few Saturdays, Peter and I have been on a “Farmers Market and Fresh Blooms” kick. We head down to Union Square with a game plan for our Sunday night meal, pick up the ingredients we need (trying not to buy all the other delicious looking things we see), and then pick out some fresh flowers on the way home. It’s the perfect little routine.
Last Saturday I wore this laid-back look on our little errand. All of these outfit pieces, separately, are pretty casual, and yet what’s great is that I felt really put together by simply adding a pop of color on my lips. It’s my secret to looking less “I just begrudging rolled out of bed” and more “Yes, I woke up looking this good.” Beyonce would be proud.
I’m really loving these Roman sandals from Aldo (I know, I’m super late to the trend..). They’re great for a city like New York, where I do a LOT of walking. I experimented a little by pairing them and the rest of my black outfit with a white bag. I’ve been trying to be less matchy-matchy and here I think it really works.
Oh, and I literally picked up this hat on the way to the market from some random street vendor! $10. Just another reason to love New York.
