The one downside of living in New York has got to be the size of the apartments (available in my price range). If I
won the lottery had my way, I’d have (1) larger closets and (2) an actual kitchen. When I lived in Milwaukee, my apartment was twice the size, and ideal for hosting parties … so, shocker, I would go all out cooking, baking and decorating for the occassions. But now (until I hit the PowerBall at least) I save my party planning for when I’m back home with Mama Vuk in her glorious kitchen.
This Thanksgiving break, we teamed up to host a Stella & Dot Trunk show for some of our favorites ladies. A girl’s night with jewelry, cocktails, and small bites — can’t go wrong with that! I thought it’d be fun to run with the “Dot” theme and decorate with my favorite pattern. We found a playful polka dot print to be the core pattern, and worked in a complimentary striped print and a few accent colors. We then made sure to lay everything out on a white tablecloth, allowing for the colors and patterns to pop! Top it off with some confetti and balloons and it’s party time!
More colorful than the party favors were the pieces of jewelry on display from Stella & Dot. So many gorgeous pieces in their current collection!! I’m pretty sure almost every party-goer bought something…some more than others (insert hand-raised emoji here).
I know you’re super jealous that you missed our party, but you what they say – after the party is the after-party! You can still shop the trunk show for another 10 days from the comfort of your couch. But sorry, there are no leftovers.
