Midi Christmas to You

A New York Love Affair :: Shabby Apple

If you haven’t been swept up by the Christmas spirit by now, then maybe you’re just a Scrooge. The holidays are my absolute favorite time of year, and I tend to get a little overly festive as a result. If I had it my way, the tree would be up all year round, I would drink hot cocoa (with extra marshmallows of course) every night, and each morning I’d play dress up in red, green, and sparkle.

Now, a lot of that isn’t too far off from reality. I do have my fair share of sweet drinks before bed, and I’ve been trying on multiple festive outfits for weeks (like here and here) in search of the perfect holiday look. Thanks to Shabby Apple, I finally settled on my Christmas Eve outfit – their stunning Manhattan skirt, paired with black, gold, and pops of red. Fitting for a Manhattan girl, don’t you think?

I absolutely love how sophisticated and chic midi skirts can be. They synch you at your skinniest point, and flow elegently out from there. Such a great option for a formal affair or dressy occassion. Pair it with a small crop and you take a timeless piece and give it an on-trend twist. Plus, who says crop tops are just for the summer? With a base of shimmer and black, I added my festive touch with pops of red from head to toe.

But a skirt like this shouldn’t only come out during the holiday season. Pair it with blush and nude tones for the spring, bright blues and pinks this summer, and throw in some jewel tones come fall. A versatile skirt for every twirl-worthy occassion … but especially perfect for the holidays.

Black, white and red – it just doesn’t get more chic or holiday appropriate than that! I absolutely love this look, in particular the touches of red from your bag and shoes. I love how well the two shades match (because I secretly love colour matching, even though not many people do.) So pretty!

Hahaha I secretly love color matching too…….. when it doesnt look like the “dye-to-match-your-bridesmaid-dress” kind of matchy matchy. hehe

Your skirt definitely makes a statement. I like the texture & drama it brings. Christmas is my favorite time of the year as well.

The texture is perfectly understated but visible. I love it! Shabby Apple does it again.
