Confession: blogger life can be kind of lonely sometimes. I work full time, so most week nights are spent hunched over my computer editing photos and writing content (while sharing a bottle of wine with myself), and most weekends are spent shooting different looks. There’s a lot of ‘me time’: planning posts about ‘me’, taking pictures of ‘me’, writing posts about ‘me’. Sometimes that can get a little tiring… That’s why I absolutely cherish the time I get to interact with my readers and fellow bloggers.
Last weekend a group of us NYC fashionistas hit pause on our blogger duties and got together for a little brunch hosted by AMCONYC. Mimosas + brunch + blogger babes. Is there a better way to spend an afternoon? It was so nice to spend some time with gals that I hadn’t seen in awhile … gals who’s life updates I get from Instagram and Snapchat because we’re all too busy for dates! It’s so refreshing to catch up with other bloggers that understand this labor of love, vent a little (about our
boyfriends photographers), and talk about our unifying passion: fashion!

But getting together with such a stylish group of ladies, means my clothes game has to be on point. I chose a brightly colored, “I-just-bought-this-yesterday” top, a gorgeous French Connection shirt that was screaming at me from the racks. I just had to buy it. While most people prefer softer hues for spring, I’ve been taking more of a “dive-right-in” approach. My favorite way to expressed color this season has been with varying shade of pink, paired with white and grey.
This look, with its whites, pinks, and bright colors, makes me feel like I’m on South Beach somewhere. It says “warm weather ahead,” to me. I’m battling the remnants of winter woes by diving head first into the brightly colored end of the pool. Bright shades that pop on a white backdrop (my jeans and bag), plus just a hint of something different with these grey Ralph Lauren heels (also an impulse buy).
How do you pick an outfit when you’re seeing your most stylish group of friends?
