Packing is always a chore for me, one I usually leave for the last minute. Packing for Vegas is the worst. You know you’re going to take a million
photos instagrams and snapchats. Plus, no one just “lives” there — everyone is there to have fun, go out, see and be seen.
If the streets of New York are like a fashion runway, the streets of Vegas are basically just extended entrances to the clubs. They’re every bit the scene outside, only without the flashing lights and pulsating techno beats.

And in Manhattan, you can get away with a “Tuesday” look. It’s chic but nothing special. In Vegas, there is no room for that. You have to be on point every minute. That means all your best pieces have to wind up in your suitcase, and probably means you have to go buy a couple things ahead of your trip. You’re on vacation and you want to feel like it.
There are big and small ways to do this. The big ways are obvious: drop some serious dollars on designer fashion. Even if it’s just one piece, pull the trigger, bite the bullet — pick a metaphor, and go for it. I picked a floral Trina Turk romper. The print is perfect for spring and Vegas, plus the exquisite cut is what you’d expect from designer fashion.
But there are also some little ways to give yourself a little extra sparkle on your Vegas vacay. I picked up a couple little pieces of pretty for my trip, upping my jewelry game from my normal day-to-day with some gold midi rings.
So next time you’re headed to Vegas, make every inch of that suitcase count. And if you’re like me, bring your biggest suitcase.
