Getting dressed in summer can be kind of boring. Most of the time it’s too hot to wear ONE layer, let alone multiple layers. And for me, most of the fun comes from mixing pieces and layering different textures. So in summer, what are my options?
Blazer: Jay Godfrey c/o | Crop Top: Express | Shorts: Gap | Hat: street vendor | Sandals: Aldo | Watch: Francesca’s | Bracelets: Stella & Dot + Stella & Dot | Bag: Prada
My latest obsession was born out of this very dilemma: the sleeveless blazer. It is so effortlessly chic, and is a great way to add dimension to your look without weighing yourself down in the heat. With these “dusters”, finding the right length is key. You want it to be long enough to be dramatic, but short enough that you can still pair it with shorts. I chose ivory, because it goes with everything, and investing in a black one isn’t a bad idea either. But if my love affair with sleeveless blazers is anything like my past obsessions, you could see me picking up a few more of these in a variety of colors.
I love that by throwing a sleeveless blazer over my otherwise basic look, it went from super casual to chic. I could just as easily pair this with skinnies and heels for a more ‘night-on-the-town’ look too. But don’t limit yourself! This little wardrobe necessity could also dress down a great dress — the options are endless!
Have you gotten yourself a sleeveless blazer yet?
