Have you ever been working toward something and felt like you hit a rut? Whether it be a career milestone, a fitness goal, or if you’re a fellow blogger maybe even a readership target, I’m sure we can all relate. It’s easy to compare to the day before, not feel like you’ve made any gains, and get frustrated.

The problem is, as a culture tend to be very short-sighted. We want quick results, instantaneous feedback, and have millions of people to mentally benchmark ourselves to along the way. It gets to be a unhealthy. So when I start feeling like this, I try to take a step back and reflect.
Don’t compare yourself to yesterday. And don’t compare yourself to others. Think back a year and measure yourself against that milestone. You’ll be amazed how much can change in 365 days!
A year ago I went up to Saratoga for my very first blogger event (read all about it here!). It felt like the first day of college … I was a total newbie, I didn’t have any friends, and I was a healthy combination of nervous and excited. But that one day up in Saratoga launched me into the most rewarding year of blogging to date. Some of the girls I met are now my closest friends in the city, and I credit their support and friendship for a lot of my growth.
So when America’s Best Racing reached out for #TogaTrip2.0, I was ecstatic! Not only would I get another taste of the betting and track fashion I had fallen hard for last year, but I’d also get to relive a memory I looked back on so fondly.
If you’ve never been to the horse track, I really encourage you to go. There’s nothing better than sipping cocktails dressed to the nines, while cheering your horse down the stretch.
It’s not something I would have even thought to do a year ago. This year, I got to do it all over again, but this time with a group of friends I’m so thankful to have. We really have come so far in a short time.
Thank you America’s Best Racing, for a great day with great friends. Here’s to a potential #TogaTrip3.0 … let’s see what this next year will bring :-)
