September is such an tricky time of the year. Post-Labor Day, my mind turns to full-on fall mode, and yet the weather is still screaming summer. By now, I’ve pretty much worn my warm weather wardrobe to death, and I’m itching to work my new fall essentials into the mix.

To help me get through this weird in-between stage, I rely on textures and colors. Swap out linen for leather. Grab your black bag instead of white. Change out your bright colors for some warmer tones. You can still be in shorts and a tee which is summer-weather approved, but with a few of these tweaks you’ll be channeling the changing colors of the trees.
As far as colors go? You’ll be seeing a lot of me in oxblood this season. But if shades of burgundy aren’t your thing, try working forest green or mustard yellow into the mix. They’re slated to be big colors this season and are great options for giving your summer looks an autumn makeover.
