After taking a day off from NYFW on Friday (I know, day two and I’m already a fashion week drop out…), I was back at it by the weekend. With a little time to kill before my afternoon presentation, I headed over to SoHo for some retail therapy (story of my life). First I popped into Rebecca Minkoff for some champagne and live coverage of the show. Then I made my way to Vince Camuto for some unnecessary but inevitable shoe shopping. I pretty much fell in love with a pair of lace up heels while there, purchased them on the spot, and proceeded to wear them instead of my originally planned pair for the day. #loveatfirstsight (full look here).
Having worked with Jay Godfrey before (remember this look?) I couldn’t wait to see the latest collection. And considering what I planned to wear the following day (here’s a hint), I was thrilled to see the gorgeous collection of all white pieces in front of me.
Clean, minimalistic, and the perfect mix of edgy and sophisticated – Godfrey’s SS16 line was geometric, with carefully placed cut-outs and dramatic asymmetry. Every look on that stage wowed, and could easily be considered ready-to-wear fashion.
The best part? Each woman stood there as if to say “wear white all year round, because rules are meant to be broken.”
This collection was one of my favorites, with looks that are easily translatable to every day life. So I thought I’d help you bring the all white trend from runway to real-way with these must-have picks:
