Confession: it was so cold during fashion week last weekend, that we waited a few extra days (for the temperatures to hit a balmy 25 degrees instead of single digits) before shooting some of the outfits. This look from day three was no exception. Although day two was the most exciting, day three was the busiest, so I wanted to wear something that was chic and comfortable while I
trekked Ubered all over town.

I originally bought these culottes for my 28th birthday last month, and loved them so much I had to take them for a spin during NYFW. The first time I paired them with bold red pumps, but to avoid the wind nipping at my ankles, I opted for a classic OTK boots. The boots kept my legs warm, and also disappeared elegantly underneath the flowy culottes. I also wore a very fitted crop top to counter-balance the wide-legged silhouette of the pant.
As you can see already, culottes were on heavy rotation during my fashion week wardrobe (check out my day two look here) … they’re another piece of 70’s fashion that I’ve slowly come to embrace. The 70’s were before my time, but culottes do give me slight (okay, major) de ja vu to the early 2000’s and the socially acceptable gauchos we wore on repeat. I like to think culottes are a sophisticated upgrade on that embarrassing trend, and it’s time to get on board if you haven’t already. Plus, they are like wearing your pajamas out in public!
I had quite a few shows and events over the weekend, and I can’t wait to share details from all the shows. Stay tuned later this week for more recaps!
